The Awkipuma Spiritual Center is located in the jungle of Iquitos in Peru, in a natural environment that allows us to connect deeply with nature and with ourselves.

The place of welcome and where the ayahuasca spiritual retreat takes place is called the community of Tamshiyacu, and the only way to reach the community is through the great Amazon River.

To get to the Awkipuma Spiritual Center, the only way is through the Amazon River and there are no roads. Speedboats are used and the trip takes approximately 1 hour from Iquitos.

You can participate by registering for our retreats through our website or by contacting us directly via WhatsApp online. We recommend registering in advance due to limited capacity of the ayahuasca retreats.

Most of our retreats are suitable for adults and young people; there is no age limit. However, we recommend that if you come with a teenager, they will need to be accompanied by their parents on specific activities with a family focus.

At Awkipuma we prioritize the safety and well-being of our participants. We have trained staff and safety protocols to ensure an environment of respect and care.

The Centre does not have electricity throughout the day. However, a generator is used which is switched on at 6pm to provide temporary power, providing an environment conducive to rest and contemplation at night.

Yes! During the hours when the generator is on, you will be able to charge your cell phones, cameras and other electronic devices at the designated locations.

We recommend that you bring comfortable clothing, insect repellent, personal hygiene products, a flashlight, and a notebook so you can write down your thoughts and experiences.

No, no previous experience is necessary. The retreats are designed for both beginners and those who have participated in previous ceremonies, as long as they follow the instructions of the Spiritual Guide.

Ceremonies are guided by experienced shamans and are conducted in a safe and respectful environment. However, it is also important that you follow the facilitator’s recommendations and consult a health professional if you have pre-existing medical conditions.

Yes, we provide healthy meals, based on the recommended diet for preparing for the ayahuasca ceremony. We strive to use fresh and natural ingredients.

In addition to the ceremonies, we offer guided walks through the jungle, and teachings on the ayahuasca plant among other medicinal trees, which allows for a deep spiritual and physical connection with the environment.

Alcohol and drug use are not permitted in the center, as we want to maintain a pure environment conducive to spiritual connection and personal healing.
