COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION ON THE RETREAT WITH AYAHUASCA
During this retreat, three ayahuasca ceremonies will be held at the Awkipuma shamanic center. The ceremonies at the Awkipuma center are designed to optimize the participants’ ability to deeply relax into their experience, connecting directly with their interior and nature.
The ayahuasca ceremony ritual is an ancient practice that has been traditionally performed by shamans in South America for thousands of years. The ayahuasca ceremony is a powerful spiritual experience that opens the participant to a greater knowledge of the essence of oneself in this realm.
The ceremonies are carried out in the Amazon jungle of Iquitos – Peru, on the banks of the great Amazon river in the company of the shamans of the Amazon jungle. Outside the ceremonial center, the symphony of sounds of frogs, animals and insects at night is the perfect setting for a night of spiritual healing discovery.
The music or icaros that the shaman sings is carefully chosen for the ceremony that supports, triggers and guides the participant on their spiritual path with ayahuasca. Music can often be a powerful medium for spiritual awakening and the music played at Awkipuma is of sublime soundscapes that allow the mind to expand into infinite space, where the visions and feelings of cosmic consciousness flow as rivers of consciousness.
At the center Awkipuma is a tree-lined rural space that is designed to allow participants to optimize their own internal spiritual processes and development through self-reflection and integration.
The shaman will work individually with each participant before and during the retreats to ensure that they are prepared and feel safe during the experience. In the retreat, the group process is very important and the sharing circles are an intrinsic part of the reflective experience, often leading to deeper understandings.
At the Awkipuma center they grow their own ayahuasca and chacruna plants, and the tea is made with great care and attention. As a space dedicated to ayahuasca, the spirit of the plants permeates through the earth to every corner of the center.

An energetic cleansing bath with the shamans in our cashuera (small waterfall) recommended after the ayahuasca ceremonies to activate our energetic field and fill us with positive energies.

FIRST DAY
- 11:00 Pick up the participants from their respective hotels or lodgings from the city of Iquitos and take them to our retreat center, in a mobility called fast boats (Amazon river).
- 16:00 Arrival at the Awkipuma center on the banks of the great Amazon River.
- 17:00 Individual conversation with each of the participants
- 19:00 Group conversation with all the participants of the. Ayahuasca Retreat
- 21:00 First Ayahuasca ceremony.
SECOND DAY
- 09:00 Light breakfast.
- 10:00 Personal conversation with each participant.
- 16:00 A guided meditative walk through the jungle
- 21:00 Second ayahuasca ceremony.
THIRD DAY
- 09:00 Light breakfast.
- 10:00 Conversation for the interpretation and integration of the ayahuasca experience.
- 14:00 Lunch, conversation and rest.
- 20:00 A family dinner with the shamans and then a meeting with the members to talk about the visions and connections that each participant has had during the ayahuasca ceremonies.
FOURTH DAY
- 07:00 Light breakfast.
- 08:00 Discussion of the experience and post-diet recommendations for the participants.
- 12:00 End of the ayahuasca retreat.

👉 The traditional way to get to Iquitos – Peru, is only by air.
👉 Domestic flights start or leave from the capital of Lima (Jorge Chávez International Airport), bound for the city of Iquitos.
👉 The flight time from Lima – Iquitos is; 1: 45 minutes approximately.
👉 The city of Iquitos has an international airport called Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta (airport code IQT).
👉 There are no roads.
👉 The jungle of Iquitos is like an island surrounded by the great Amazon river as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
